The Compass Wheel
A tabletop roleplaying game of exploration, connection, and the fight against stasis. Walk the eight roads of Meridian, bind the world's threads, and hold back the Still.

What The Compass Wheel is
The Compass Wheel is the studio's debut tabletop roleplaying game: a system-agnostic setting built directly on the Raccoon Engine. It is a game about roads that are reopening, caravans that are travelling again, and the slow entropy that will freeze a region solid if nobody chooses to keep it moving.
You play wanderers, traders, and explorers working out of Meridian, the crossroads city at the centre of the map. The world is still recovering from a cataclysm called the Turning, and the connections that hold it together have to be rebuilt by hand, road by road.
At the Table
How it plays on the Raccoon Engine
Because the game is built on the Raccoon Engine, the loop you learn here is the loop you use in every Magic Brokers world.
One roll for any action
Sneaking a caravan past a Still-touched checkpoint, arguing a price in Meridian's markets, or climbing a Glass Road escarpment all resolve with the same Aptitude + Approach + Edge roll.
Hits become Momentum
Hits beyond the Hit Target are spent on the spot: extra damage, aid to an ally, a second action, or a Triumph.
Failure still moves the story
A missed roll brings a Consequence from a d10, so a bad night in the wilds pushes the fiction forward instead of stalling it.
Effort is a choice
Vigor buys Effort, and Daring buys extra dice at an announced risk. Pushing harder is always the player's decision.
The World
Meridian and the eight roads
Meridian sits at the centre of eight roads, each one a region, a culture, a people, and an element. Everything in the setting runs on connection: the eight elemental Threads can be bound to build, heal, and hold things together, or severed at a cost that wounds the fabric of the world.
Against that stands the Still: not a villain, but entropy. It advances in five stages, from Whispers to Frozen, hollowing people as it goes. Combat does not restore the Hollowed. Connection does.
